Reasons to fundraise

The Memory Box Project has a steady stream of item donations that we are very grateful for, however from time to time some of our items become broken, lost or worn out due to the amount of handling encountered. By raising money for the project, you can help replenish these items and add more wonderful objects to evoke memories for our clients. If you would like to allocate a fundraising donation to a certain aspect of the project the following areas can be allocated to:

  • Memory Box items

  • Memory Box Aroma Prime smell boxes

  • The plastic Memory Boxes

  • Admin and hygiene supply for the boxes such as laminating sheets and anti-bacterial wipes

  • Event equipment such as a gazebo, chairs, tables

Memories Brought Home supports socially isolated people across Hampshire through heritage sites. They work with a large amount of volunteers and the end of the 15 month project will result in a touring exhibition across all the sites they visit (NB this has since been adapted to an online exhibition due to COVID 19). If you are interested in donating your fundrasing money to Memories Brought Home, you are able to allocate the money to the following areas:

  • Cameras and recording equipment

  • Admin and hygiene supplies such as laminating sheets, stationary and anti-bacterial wipes

  • Event equipment such as a gazebo, chairs, tables

  • Session supplies such as crafting materials, textile etc.

  • Refreshments for participants

Ways you can help us

Here are some suggestions on ways you can raise money for the charity. Please contact Heather Parkinson via email: heather@wessexheritagetrust.org if you would like to fundraise for us. We would love to provide you with some leaflets, a charity bucket and other resources you may need. When contacting us please let us know if you would like to donate to a specific project or to The Wessex Heritage Trust as a whole, and if you have a particular category you would like to raise money for.

  • Running - taking part in a run is not only good for your health but a brilliant way to raise money! You can set your own personal goals and work on them year by year.

  • Host a coffee morning - because what’s better than coffee and a slice of cake!

  • Fancy dress - how about getting a whole team involved in a fancy dress event. You could host a party with paid entry, and prizes for best dressed.

  • Sports - are you into football? Or maybe swimming is your thing. Why not turn your passion into a way to fundraise? You could have a charity match or be sponsored for a certain number of lengths.

  • Sponsored silence - because the classics always work.

  • Host a dinner party - are you a culinary genius or more of a home cook? Whichever you are, hosting a dinner party is a yummy way to raise money and fill up bellies!

  • Quiz night - do your strengths lie in brain power? If so a quiz night may be more up your street, you can plan your questions based on your target audience and have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Who doesn’t love a quiz night?

If you have any other ideas of ways to fundraise please get in touch we would love to hear them. Please try and take pictures of your event to send to us with your donation as we would love to add them to our website and social media accounts.
